January Transfer Window Round Up and My Thoughts

The January transfer window isn’t officially closed yet with plenty of big signings still to be unfolded in the last 24 hour of the window but let’s go through the signing that have been made in the biggest spenders in the window. The Premier League. We will start off in West London as the biggest spenders Chelsea have made some big-name signings to help with their struggling form in the league. Joao Felix the Portuguese man from Atletico was their first signing of the window hoping he will be the man who sparks their attack back to its best along with two very impressive youngsters Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, David Patro Fofana who is labelled to be “the next Drogba” and Benoit Badiashile who are ones for the future and the last blue to be added to the squad to be in competition with the main Chelsea man Reece James as he struggles through injury is Malo Gusto. The Frenchman will join the blues in the 2023/2024 alongside big money signing Nkunku for RB Leipzig. now we move to the north side of London where both Tottenham and Arsenal look improve their depth of their squads. Arsenal have made two signings to continue their premier league triumph with Polish centre back Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia and one of the best players this season outside of the top six teams Leandro Trossard for a steal of £21 million on a 3-year deal after his falling out down south in Brighton he moves to the best team in the league to end the 20 years of no premier league. The North London derby this year ended with arsenal winning on the pitch, but they remain equal in the transfer window as Spurs also make two signings. After Danjuma’s loan deal to Everton collapsed the whites were first into action and the hijack happened, as well as Danjuma they also brought in Pedro Porro from Sporting CP for 45 million who has been the main target for Antonio Conte’s side for some time now with fans hoping he is the missing piece to end their trophy drought. Now moving up North, Manchester known to be the home of two of the greatest teams in the sport the red devils brought in a replacement on loan after the actions of Cristiano Ronaldo left them without a natural goal scorer, Wout Weghorst steps up to join the reds after his loan in Turkey got brought to an end to help Erik Ten Haag’s reds compete for the league and return into the most prestigious Champions League. Manchester city on the other hand had no one come into the club as Pep Guardiola welcomed Erling Haaland to the blues in august to complete his ultimate side but just recently Joao Cancelo one of the best right/left backs in the world goes on loan to German giants Bayern Munich. Now we go into Mersey side where a lot of ups and downs have occurred. Liverpool have signed young world cup star Cody Gakpo from Dutch side PSV to replace the evidently missed Sadio Mane who left at the end of last season. Moving over the Mersey side river, struggling Everton who were on track to sign Danjuma on loan said goodbye to Manager Frank Lampard who helped the Evertonian’s keep hope after surviving relegation last season is replaced with former Burnley boss Sean Dyche. Another key figure in that survival team was young super star Anthony Gordon who made a £40 million pound signing to a revived, strong Newcastle side after their big money take over last season. Finally, we end our tour of premier league clubs in the Midlands where Leeds made a loan move for Juventus player Weston Mckennie to join US born coach Jesse Marsh who looks to be building a strong team, after the 24 turned down an offer to go to Bournemouth. That’s the important information from the January transfer window SO FAR and with plenty of time left there will be some major moves bound to happen before the end of it.

For me Chelsea have spent a lot of money yes but with injured players coming back the blues look to be cooking a storm with all these signings and hopefully will be contending for champions league football. With Arsenal a few points clear from City and Man UTD I feel with the signing of Trossard who this season has scored 5 goals against the big 6 they will be tough to come up against however with the form of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Marcus Rashford the two Manchester clubs won’t give up without a fight. With the appointment of Dyche but the loss of Gordon I think Everton will get Relegated for the first time since the 1950’s, Weston Mckennie I believe will add a bit of flair to this solid Leeds side giving them another season in the premier league.
